For the eight year in a row Niagara area residents only will be offered reduced rates at 27 Niagara Falls Hotels (7,800 rooms) between November 13th and 17th. All the money raised will go towards Niagara-based charities. The event called, "Sleep Cheap, Charities' Reap" was created in 2004 by our current Mayor, Jim Diodati and has raised more than $845,000. It’s anticipated this year's event will bring the amount close to the one million dollar mark. Let’s give a big round of applause to the hoteliers for this generous offer.
In other Niagara news, the four Maids of the Mist boats have been dry docked for the colder winter months. The reason being, the amount of the water in the Maid of the Mist pool below the falls is greatly reduced at this time of the year. To learn more about this go to the link shown below. Lots of other attractions stay open for our exciting winter season like the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, Journey Behind the Falls, Illumination of the Falls and Niagara Falls Aviary and many more.
