NIAGARA FALLS IS HOT

If you live in this part of the world you’ll know Niagara Falls, Canada is experiencing an extremely hot summer (now, no complaining remember our past winter)!
It reminds me of another very hot summer in Niagara Falls history. It was June of 1952 during the making of the movie “Niagara” starring that lovely Hollywood star, Marilyn Monroe. For the 15 days of filming temperatures were a sweltering 100 degrees. So hot that 26 year old Marilyn and her co-star, Joseph Cotten had to make several clothing changes during the filming. The 89 minute movie was the first movie in which she received top billing. It established her legendary mesmerizing sexuality.
If you ever get to see this classic Niagara movie look for my dad who “starred” with Marilyn. He was working as first mate on the Maid of the Mist and you can see him on the gangplank. Now don’t blink!
I’ve attached a photo from my collection that’s found in book that I wrote about, “Marilyn Monroe and the Making of Niagara”.
