It taken about ten years of discussion to get to this point but a new people-mover system that will link all of Niagara should be in place by the summer of 2012.
I can remember when the NPC introduced the first people-movers in the park system in 1980.The original people-mover buses ( a photo accompanies the blog) are still operating but starting to show their age.
The new 50 million project, officially called the Visitor Transportation System will shuttle people not only around the park system but also throughout the city in a “seamless” and “integrated” fashion.
There will be 16 buses for city routes and 11 for parks commission routes. It’s expected that retail tickets will sell for $10.00 per person and will be good for two consecutive days. Transfer between lines will be at no additional cost.
Visiting all of Niagara Falls in 2012 should be easier that ever.

alan stephens I understand that a tour group is scheduled to arrive @ Niagra , Ny next month .Please be advised that some of them are Southern Baptists from Ga , USA . As you know , we're a bunch of rednecks and you might want to keep a careful eye on them . I have been to Niagra 4 times . I have travelled from the great city of Toronto to Banff . It was a great vacation experience . I had thought of relocating to Canada at the time , back in the 80's . A few years ago I took my new wife to the Honeymoon Capital of the World . We crossed the border to Canada to see Niagra from the most beautiful side of the river . My, how things had changed from my previous experiences . We were were unpleasantly greeted by one of your Gestapho and treated to a car and womans purse search . Of course , since I am still a free man and not in one of your jails , nothing incrimanating was found on us . Thank you , Canadian Govt .for the once in a lifetime experience , and for screwing up a vacation paradise for me . Sincerely , Alan Stephens ,Rome , Ga , USA .
George Bailey Alan, I am truly sorry to hear about your experience an number of years ago.Searches on both sides of the border seem to be a necessary thing these days in light of the infamous Sept 11th incidence.
