Now I can officially say Spring has arrived in Niagara.
The world famous Maid of the Mist enters the waters below the Falls at 9:45 am Wednesday, April 10th and continues to ply the lower Niagara River until 5:45 pm daily through mid-October.
The Maid of the Mist started in 1845 as a ferry between Canada and the United States. There was no bridge between the two countries at that time.
Today countless people have been thrilled by a ride into the "shoe" below the falls.
Over the years I have had the pleasure to escort people like Princess Diana and her children William and Harry, U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Prince Andrew and his wife Sarah and numerous other high profile individuals. They all were enthralled by their half-hour journey of a lifetime.
