Just about any time of the year is perfect to visit Niagara Falls but in January visitors get to see Niagara with its winter coat and there are lots of other reasons to visit?
For example, there are fewer people, hotels and motels offer extremely attractive rates. Also, the CAA Winter Festival of Lights display is usually discontinued after the first week in January but this year the lights remain on until the end of the month. The majority of the Niagara Falls attractions (except the flower related kinds) remain open, such as The Skylon, Greg Frewin Dinner Theatre, Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show, numerous Clifton Hill attractions such as the Niagara Skywheel, Ripley’s Believe it or Not and Guinness world of Records are open. The Niagara Parks Floral Showcase (Greenhouse), Butterfly Conservatory and Journey Behind the Falls attractions are still open. When you enter the Bird Kingdom Aviary near the falls it’s a bit of summer. Photographing the falls and the Ice Bridge below the falls is one of my favourites.
So don’t hesitate to plan a visit to Niagara Falls during the colder winter months you won’t regret the decision.
